Jan. 23 — While responding to a fire alarm in Highlands 8 at approximately 12:43 a.m., marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol were observed in plain view. Being under the legal age of 21, Augustus Martin, 18, was charged with underage drinking and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 24  — At approximately 11:52 p.m. university police responded to a report of a strong odor in Highlands 3 in room 3250. Upon arrival, Brandon Rios, 19, was criminally charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 24 — At approximately 11:25 p.m., unknown individuals tampered with controls to the stream room in the men’s locker room of the Pogue Student Center causing the steam to continue uninterrupted. The excessive steam eventually caused the activation of the fire alarm system.

Jan. 26 — Justin Keast, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after officers observed the items in plain view in a vehicle belonging to the individual from which the individual had just exited at approximately 1:23 a.m. 

Jan. 27 — After a traffic stop for equipment violations at approximately 12:08 a.m. on Scotland Rd. the driver and passenger were found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Paul Miller, 28, and Alicia Hipwell, 24, were each charged with both violations.

Jan. 27 — At approximately 8:41 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle in McComb Fieldhouse parking lot for equipment violations. Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle’s inspection and emissions were expired as well as the driver’s license being suspended. James Clark, 19, was also found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Clark was charged with all violations.

Jan. 27 — After receiving an anonymous tip, officers investigated an underage party in Highlands 1205 at approximately 9:49 p.m. The occupants of the room admitted to possessing and consuming alcohol. Being under the legal age of 21, Jessica Bass, 19, Aubrey Billittier, 18, Danielle Chatten, 18, Tyler Licastro, 19, and Rebecca Manns, 18, were each charged with underage drinking.

Jan. 28 — After officers stopped a vehicle for driving on a sidewalk at approximately 2:36 a.m. in Towers parking lot, they determined that Jessica Griffin, 19, was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.  Griffin was criminally charged with those offenses.  Trent Chaplain, 19, being under the legal age of 21 was charged with underage drinking.

Jan. 28 — While attending a track meet in the dome, an individual reported leaving her tactical pen valued at $50 on her chair while she stepped away at approximately 4:51 p.m. Upon her return the pen was gone. 

Jan. 28 — A resident of Rose Hall reported that unknown individual(s) stole $200 from her unlocked room during the past week.  Investigation continues.

Jan. 28 — In response to a report of the odor of marijuana, officers discovered alcohol in room 1464 of Highlands 1.  The resident, Trey Hall, 19, being under the legal age of 21 was charged with underage drinking.

Jan. 28 — A resident of Rose Hall reported that unknown individual(s) stole a set of “Beats” headphones from her room on Jan. 27th.  Investigation continues.

Jan. 29 — At approximately 10:15 p.m. a vehicle was observed doing “donuts” in the Sox Harrison Stadium parking lot.  As the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle took off at a high rate of speed failing to stop at stop signs along the way.  Although the officer stopped the pursuit due to the dangerous speed, prior contact with the suspect and further investigation revealed the driver to be Gage Halle, 18.  Halle was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, careless driving, stop sign violation, driving vehicle at a safe speed and turn signals required.

Jan. 31 — A student reported her black leather wallet stolen from the women’s locker room near the fitness center in the Pogue Center between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.  Investigation continues.

Jan. 31 — A resident of Rose Hall reported that unknown individual(s) her purse from her room between Jan. 30th and Jan. 31st. The purse contained $100 and various ID cards. Investigation continues.

Jan. 31 — A resident of Rose Hall reported that between Jan. 30th and Jan. 31st , unknown individual(s) stole $110 from her wallet and an orange colored note book valued at $10, from her room.  Investigation continues.
