Breaking: Trey Gunter sentenced for Edinboro shooting

Former Edinboro University student Trey Gunter was sentenced today to 15 to 40 years in a state correctional facility as confirmed by the clerk of courts.

Gunter plead guilty to third degree murder after shooting and killing Tobiah Johnson outside an apartment complex on Water Street on November 17, 2014 for stealing his gun. Johnson died from a single gunshot wound to the trunk.

Gunter was sentenced by John Trucilla in the Erie County Courthouse at 9 a.m. this morning.
