A new Bacon Gallery exhibition has opened at the Erie Art Museum. The show, a traveling textile exhibit called “Earth Stories,” contains pieces from “24 contemporary international fiber artists,” according to a press release from the museum.
Curated by Leni Levenson Wiener, of Studio Art Quilt Associates, and juried by Dr. Carolyn L. Mazloomi, each piece is inspired by environmental issues. Techniques including painting, photo transfer, applique and patchwork were used in the design of each part of the exhibition to tell “stories of people and projects working to protect and restore natural lands and endangered species, increased sustainability through new approaches to agriculture and energy consumption, and otherwise improve the planet we live in,” according to the release.
For more information, contact Jill Kambs at jill@erieartmuseum.org or (814) 459-5477. “Earth Stories” is open until June 11.

This is a deep-dive list. A list filled with titles that will impress your relatives when you mention them around the roast beast (but do not actually gather, of course, because of the pandemic). |

“Therapeutic” is the perfect word to describe “Is Enough.” The mellow beats and calm vocals provide a relaxing backdrop for a study night or a Sunday stroll. |
“For most of us musicians, it’s not just the job. It’s our whole identity, it’s our whole world, it’s an extension of our personality.” |
Starting in the local area, the Erie Philharmonic will continue their annual Holiday Concert Tour of Homes. The series gives tours of decorated homes, along with Philharmonic performances in that same location. |

On the show title, "Perfect," she said: “It’s a little bit tongue-in-cheek. On my poster and where I posted the title on the wall, it’s a little bit askew." |
