The Edinboro Shooting Sports Club finished their season this past weekend at the Pennsylvania State Archery Association.

The spotlight was on the archery portion and the team came through, taking first in the men’s freestyle division with their co-ed team.

After a performance in 2016 that garnered only individual awards, 2017 proved their growth with a team victory.

Captain Rachel Walsh was also given the Goss Award, an honor that is given to the member of the competition that the PSAA feels has been the most proactive in terms of promotion and support of archery.

Walsh was nominated for the award by her former high school coach and she consistently represents a constant in the shooting sports programs ever since its creation on the Edinboro University campus.

“I am so proud of all they have accomplished, for their love and dedication for archery and their university. They inspire me everyday to be better, as these students represent the leadership Edinboro University strives for,” captain Rachel Walsh said.
