The Erie Art Museum will be hosting the Pittsburgh Glass Center’s new traveling glass studio, “Hot Wheels,” on Sunday, Oct. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m.

The program is free and part of the education program, Second Sundays.

This compact traveling glass studio is complete with “state of the art equipment” needed to conduct glassblowing demonstrations. It allows “artists to pop-up all over Northwest Pennsylvania, twisting and twirling the molten magma making fiery works of art and to help people of all ages and abilities to also give it a try.” “Hot Wheels” aims to bring the art of glass to people who might not have experienced it prior.

Guests can also visit “Making the Ordinary Extraordinary,” an exhibit of “stunning glass sculptures by artists from the Pittsburgh Glass Center in the museum’s main gallery.”

To receive updates on this event, RSVP on Erie Art Museum’s Facebook page.
