On Friday, Sept. 20, Edinboro University’s Art Department participated in Erie Arts and Culture’s “Gallery Night,” running a pop-up display in downtown Erie at Meiser Place.

The display continued the Art 100 celebration which honors 100 years of art education at Edinboro University.

The pop-up chronicled the history of the Edinboro animation program, displaying works from the university’s permanent collection. This included original pieces by Warner Bros. Studios animator Chuck Jones, pieces from Disney studios, as well as work by local animators and current university faculty.

The Art 100 pop-up represented one of 17 entities participating in Gallery Night. The event functions similarly to a pub crawl, but participants view art at one of many galleries across downtown Erie.

The Art 100 celebration events will take place from August 2019 to December 2020.
