You can never be too old to love stuffed animals, right? On February 11, 2015 Edinboro University students proved that statement to be true when the Student Government Association had their Valentine’s day stuffed animal event. Unfortunately, they ran out of animals to stuff within eight minutes of the event starting. However, the EUSGA is doing the event again very soon.
On March 23 from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. in the SGA office, students may join in the fun of stuffing animals once again.
Over 150 students were provided with an animal to stuff. In the eight minutes, the event had run out of animals and many students had to be turned away.
“I was both surprised and elated about the turn out,” said Micah Reed, EUSGA’s Campus Programming Director.
Reed had four goals for the event. His first goal was to create a Valentines Day themed event for the student body to participate in.
Secondly, he wanted to engage students and allow them to see him and his fellow members as more than student government.
Thirdly, he wanted to educate the student body on what EUSGA does besides allocating funds and approving clubs and organizations on campus.
Finally, he wanted to provide a social environment where students could network with their fellow peers and get to know each other a little more.
Next time, there will be more stuffed animals and the distribution of stuffed animals will be more organized.
