During Monday’s short EUSGA meeting, congress voted to adopt their new mission statement.
The mission statement of an organization is used to identify what they are about and what they hope and plan to achieve as a group.
After weeks of EUSGA Parliamentarian, Bethany Scott working on each and every aspect of the statement for the organization, it was finally put into place.
Advisor, Dr. Sablo, wanted to change the tense in which the statement was currently written.
These revisions will be made, but Monday night congress unanimously decided to motion to adopt the new mission statement to represent EUSGA and “everything it stands for.”
“The Constitutional Review Committee has been making great progress in rewriting the guiding documents of the EUSGA. They have already produced new ethics agreements for both officers and congress members,” Scott said.
“The new mission statement is now approved, and our entirely new constitution will be completed by the end of the semester. Together, these documents create a solid foundation upon which a new and improved Student Government Association will thrive,” Scott continued.
“With this new mission statement in mind, I believe that we will continue to achieve excellence by serving the students at Edinboro to the best of our ability,” Scott said.
