Edinboro University has announced the final four in contention for the vacancy of university president. Here are the candidates, all set to make on-campus visits. This list comes courtesy of Edinboro.edu.
Dione Dorsey Somerville, ED.D., Vice President for Student Affairs, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, April 22
James C. Conwell, Ph.D., P.E., President, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (2013-2018), April 23
Peter C. Fackler, MBA, Interim President, Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, April 24
Guiyou Huang, Ph.D., Chancellor, Louisiana State University of Alexandria, April 29
The initial pool of candidates was 60 individuals. Public forums will be held at 4 p.m. on their campus visit days (listed after each candidate).
They are looking to fill the position following the resignation of Dr. H. Fred Walker. Currently, the interim president is Dr. Michael Hannan.

With the Edinboro campus aiming for a fall 2021 reopening and housing applications now open for next semester, both the prospect of a safe campus and questions regarding COVID-19 vaccinations have come into focus. |

Edinboro University’s Department of English and Philosophy celebrated this year’s Chuck Palahniuk Writing Scholarship recipients with a virtual reading on Feb. 11.
Along with her coaching debut, it should be a busy spring. Middlebrooks is currently finishing up as a graduate student at Edinboro, as she’ll get her master’s degree in school counseling this May.
