As a slew of resignations and retirements fell over Edinboro University’s athletics department, a swarm of new faces moved into the offices at McComb Fieldhouse, ready to begin anew or continue the work they had done previously as assistant coaches at the university.

The most notable shake-up came in April, when it was announced that Athletic Director Bruce Baumgartner would be replaced by Interim Athletic Director Katherine Robbins. Robbins was previously an assistant professor and assistant chairperson in Edinboro’s department of counseling, school psychology and special education.

In late July, Wheeling Jesuit University announced they had hired former Interim Head Lacrosse Coach Jenny Wirth to be their head lacrosse coach. LeighAnn Stauffer, who had served as a graduate assistant coach last season, was then announced as Edinboro’s new head coach.
The spring was also highlighted by the resignation in April of longtime wrestling coach Tim Flynn. This was followed in May by former Fighting Scot Matt Hill taking over the program. Hill announced in July that another former Scot, Mike DePalma, would serve as his assistant coach.
Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Bess moved laterally to become Callie Wheeler’s assistant women’s basketball coach and was replaced on the men’s side by Chivas Whipple.
