Attorney Grant Travis has dealt with thousands of cases over the 22 years he’s been practicing law, which, according to the National Trial Lawyers Association, have been successful years. Travis was recently named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Pennsylvania, an honor that is reserved for “a select group of lawyers for their superior skills and qualifications in the field,” according to a press release from the association itself.

The National Trial Lawyers Association is an organization that includes lawyers from all over the U.S. who have achieved “major accomplishments” in their respective areas of the law. The award is given based on “peer nomination, combined with third-party research.”

Travis began his college career as one of eight students in a program where he would receive his medical degree in seven years instead of eight. However, that plan changed when his strong love of government, politics, law and policy took over. He received his undergraduate degree from the New York Institute of Technology and went to law school at Duquesne University.

“Law was the direction I wanted to go in, but my interest in medicine and science has assisted me because a big part of my practice is in personal injury work and work involving medicine,” said Travis.

Travis explained that he becomes a better lawyer by learning from his colleagues.

He said, “At this stage in my career, I might go to a continuing legal education seminar that may go all day and maybe learn one thing. You’ve experienced it, you know most of it.

“If you can pick up one or two little golden nuggets from your colleagues and people who have been there and done that before you, it’s been a successful seminar.”

Travis currently has offices in Erie, Edinboro and Warren and provides legal representation in “personal injury, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, criminal defense and DUI defense,” according to their website.

“While those personal accolades are nice, none of that happens without getting those great results for the clients — that’s what really makes me happy is being able to deliver the great news to the client that I’ve won their case, that I’ve achieved a great result,” said Travis.

“My bottom line goal is to always achieve the best results for my clients.”
