The Edinboro men’s basketball team suffered another loss this past Saturday, falling to Slippery Rock University, 88-71. It was The Rock’s 12th consecutive win.
Despite the large deficit at the end, the Fighting Scots managed to cut the lead down to four points at times in the second half.
Edinboro senior Trey Staunch scored his second career double-double, leading the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds. The stat-stuffing did not come easily, however, because Staunch found himself competing against Micah Till (second in the PSAC for scoring and rebounding) Till finished the game with 25 points and seven boards.
Fighting Scot Jaryn Simpson continued his success, scoring 19 points and securing nine rebounds. Junior Daylon Harris also found himself in the double digits with 10 points and eight rebounds.
After their loss to Slippery Rock, Edinboro sat at 5-12 overall and 2-10 in the PSAC West as they went into Wednesday’s matchup at home against Mercyhurst.
