Feeling drained by a class? Want to avoid that “W” on your transcript? Feel like you can take on another course this semester?

As our primarily virtual school year continues, it’s important to keep a few dates in mind. The last day to add or drop a course is Aug. 24, according to the Edinboro University Academic Calendar

If you’re local and want to add or drop a class in person, you can do so before 4:30 p.m. at Hamilton Hall. All others can do so before midnight on SCOTS. No academic record is kept of classes dropped.

If dropping a class later than Aug. 24, Edinboro.edu details the process: “From the second through the tenth week, or an equivalent period in a session, students who withdraw from their classes will receive a W (withdrawal) on their academic record for the courses from which they withdrew.” Students can take a class again after an initial withdrawal, with the later grade counting on their QPA (quality point average).

All withdrawal approvals after the tenth week are reviewed by the Dean and, if approved, will also be noted with a W on their academic record. The university does not allow withdrawals during the final exam period.
