Police Blotter — week of Nov. 30

Nov. 12A student reported that his wallet was stolen from the lobby of Highlands 7 while he was playing pool between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. The wallet contained identification.

Nov. 12At approximately 11:50 p.m., university police reportedly observed an individual staggering along the sidewalks and roadways in the area of Doucette and Crawford Halls. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the individual was under the influence of alcohol and he provided false identification when asked.

The individual was eventually identified as student, Joshua Schmidt, 19. Being under the legal age of 21, Schmidt was charged with underage drinking as well as public drunkenness and carrying false I.D.

Nov. 14At approximately 1:30 a.m., James V. Born, 19, was observed walking from the area of the stadium maintenance shed and into McComb parking lot. When approached by officers, the smell of burnt marijuana was obvious, according to the police report, and Born was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Born was charged.

Nov. 14An individual reported that while he was playing basketball in the ground level gym of Pogue Student Center, between the hours of 11:55 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. unknown individual(s) stole his sweatshirt. The Nike, half-zip sweatshirt was blue in color.

Nov. 15A student reported that on Nov. 6, at approximately noon, he inadvertently left his black North Face jacket in the common area of Highlands 6. When he returned for the jacket at 3 p.m. it had been taken. The jacket is valued between $50 and $60.
