Sablo Resigns, Accepts Position at George Mason University by Karlee Dies

On Wednesday, March 30, an email from Interim Edinboro University President David Werner announced that Dr. Kahan Sablo, vice president of student affairs, has decided to resign to take the position of assistant vice president of university life at George Mason University.

Sablo has been part of the Edinboro community for nearly 18 years. He served as dean of students from 1998 to 2011 before becoming vice president of students affairs. He also served the community by being a paramedic, elected member of the General McLane School Board, and minister of music at his church, St. James AME in Erie.

“His work here has prepared him well for the responsibilities he will be assuming, and we wish him the best in this next chapter of his career in student affairs,” said Werner in the email.

His final day of work at EUP will be June 8.

As for who will fill that open position, the email stated that, “plans for handling Dr. Sablo’s duties after June 8 will be developed within the context of the university’s preparations for the arrival of a new president.”

When reached for comment, Sablo did not respond.
