The Edinboro men’s and women’s tennis teams are scheduled to kick off the fall portion of their 2015-16 schedule by participating in the Harvey and Nancy J. Heath Gator Invitational.

The one day event is set to take place in Meadville, Pennsylvnia on the campus of Allegheny College. Nearby Grove City College is another school competing.

Edinboro’s men are scheduled to face the host Gators at 8:30 a.m. to kick off the invitational. It is uncertain as to whom the women will first face; it could be Allegheny at 11:30 a.m.The invitational serves as a warm up for both Boro’s men’s and women’s teams for the upcoming 2015 PSAC Singles and Doubles Championships, which are set to be held at Bloomsburg University. That two-day affair is Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13.

A pair of Scots won the 2014-15 men’s doubles championship as Edinboro was well represented in the championship match. The duo of Bruno Borja and Brandon Romain defeated teammates Matias Aignasse and Juan Estepa 6-3 to claim the crown.

The women’s team will have another tune up the follow week, this in the form of a match against Westminster, at home at 6 p.m. on Sept. 17.That date is in preparation for the USTA/ITA Atlantic Regional Championships, which will be held, for the ladies, Sept. 19-21, in Erie.

The men’s championships are scheduled to be held Sept. 25-27, also at the Pennbriar Athletic Club, in Erie.
