Over the weekend, the women’s tennis team was able to capture their first and second PSAC wins, over Seton Hill and Clarion, respectively.

“We played the tougher part of the league in the first couple, so it’s pretty nice,” head coach Lee Underwood said of the wins.

On Saturday, the team played Seton Hill and won by a score of 6-3.

Roxana Yeh won her team leading 16th singles match of the season and Laura Lopez won her 15th match. The two also teamed up in the doubles competition to earn their seventh doubles win of the year.

Underwood said it was nice to be able to get back outside again, since you never know when that time will come year to year.

On Sunday, the Scots blanked Clarion in a 9-0 shutout win.

The team needs a win against IUP this Friday to make the PSAC tournament. Underwood said Edinboro has decent depth, which has been helpful since they’ve had multiple starters who have missed the last few matches due to injury.

Yeh and Lopez earned another doubles victory on Sunday and they each earned singles wins as well.

Five of the six singles matches were won in straight sets as Julia Hellstern’s match went to three sets, which she would win.

The Lady Scots play again Friday as they host IUP in the regular season finale.
