ADTR releases sixth album, gives off good vibrations by Dakota Palmer

A Day To Remember (ADTR) has released its sixth studio album titled, “Bad Vibrations,” with the talent of vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, guitarist Neil Westfall, guitarist Kevin Skaff, bassist Joshua Woodard and drummer Alex Shelnutt.

According to an interview with McKinnon by Kerrang, this album is the first that has not been written on the road in a while. McKinnon says, “This is definitely the truest representation of us as the band we are right now.”

The title track “Bad Vibrations” is the first track on the LP. It starts off the album on a very hardcore level, but the song is fairly relatable to any difficult life situation. ADTR definitely lets its audience know immediately that this album is meant to be a defining moment in its career.

Later in the album comes “Naivety,” which is a song about growing up. The chorus sings, “This is me, honestly / I’ve got no apologies / I’m done chasing things that don’t belong to me.” This song has a very upbeat vibe while diving into a serious topic of growing up and maturing.

Arguably the best song on the album, “Same About You” is about a ending a toxic relationship. The first verse goes, “Gotta step away for perspective / Need to take a chance to clear my head / Don’t wanna understand your position / Oughta wash my hands of you and run,” which are very real lyrics to people who have been involved in toxic relationships and are struggling to get through them.

The song empowers the audience and shows them that it’s okay to get rid of people and do what is best for you.

Overall, the album is a solid four out of five stars. The crazy guitar riffs, meaningful lyrics and raw emotion behind this album is clearly reflective of the hard work the band put into this album.
