Lauren Hiller and Margeaux Dase, the literary managing editors of Chimera, are calling for submissions.

Chimera is an annual journal of literature and art, run by members of the English and art departments.

All currently enrolled undergraduate students can participate and submit work. Accepted pieces will be published in the journal, which will be printed in Spring 2021. This year's submission period closes on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11:59 p.m.

Hiller’s advice to any student who would like to submit literary work is: “be confident and edit your work like crazy. If there's an idea you want to go with, go with it. Write it. Edit it. Have someone else read over it and edit it again. Then submit it.”

Participants can submit up to five original works that must adhere to the guidelines set for Volume XVIII submissions. Contact co-managing literary editors Hiller ( or Dase ( with questions.
