The recent meeting for the Edinboro University Student Government Association (EUSGA) took place on Monday, at 4:30 p.m., in room 107A of Compton Hall.

EUSGA first reminded attendees that final student club budgets are due on Friday by 11:59 p.m.

They’re also planning a Build-A-Bear event, along with a hot chocolate day. More information will be released.

On Friday, EUSGA will host an information session on the first floor of the student center. It will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. with Kyle Hurysz. He is the student representative for the Edinboro University Council of Trustees. The underlying goal is to establish more interaction between students and the trustee.

No club announcements were made.

Mike Sparks, a board member and volunteer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), along with Nick Hefler, president of the Interfraternity Council, gave a presentation regarding Dodge the Dark, an event that will be held by campus Greek Life on Sunday, March 24, at 6 p.m. in the Zafirovski Sports & Recreation Arena. Registration will begin at 5 p.m., and the opening ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m.

The goal is to have as many teams as possible with 8-10 members.

The deadline to register is Friday, March 22, and the price is $25 per person.

Some facts about leukemia and the event itself were shared, such as statistics stating that someone is diagnosed with cancer every three minutes in the United States, and that every nine minutes a person dies from it.

Sparks also shared a story regarding his own son and how this type of event was able to save his life.

The event also includes a banner competition, best dressed contest, Chinese raffle baskets and more.
