Campus Crusade for Christ Worship (CRU) proposed two trips to the members of Edinboro Univerity Student Government Association (EUSGA) Monday night. A winter conference was first, taking place from Dec. 28 to Jan. 1, costing $199 per person, and with travel costing around $359.53. The conference will be held in Baltimore, Maryland. CRU asked SGA to provide the funds for 30 students to attend the winter conference. The winter conference “helps to strengthen spiritual growth and allow for students to expand their horizons.”

The second conference, “Big Break,” takes place the week of Spring Break, costing $329 per person and with travel costing around $550. The conference will be held in Panama City Beach, Florida. CRU asked for funding for 30 students.

The costs for the conferences include room and board. SGA approved to fund the way of 10 students for the winter conference for CRU, and has allowed them to return with another proposal for the Big Break when there is a full itinerary for the trip.

Now that homecoming weekend is over, the homecoming committee is looking to create a standing committee for when homecoming is over, titled the Spirit Committee. The committee would look to create events and decorate the campus for the holidays, along with possibly creating ways to encourage students to work hard during finals week and look forward to life after finals. The goal of the Spirit Committee would be to raise spirit on campus, and also to shed light on SGA in general. A proposal on the committee will be considered within the next couple weeks.

Regarding the possible faculty strike, SGA is remaining neutral, and expressed that its members do not know how everything would work if a strike were to happen. Reportedly, there are programs and activities being planned to keep students occupied if a strike occurs.
