Edinboro University Women's Basketball Head Coach Stan Swank is retiring after 31 years, according to a press release from the university.

Swank was the winningest coach in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) basketball history (men's and women's) with 581 career wins.

Swank had winning records in 25 out of his 31 seasons. Under Swank's leadership, Edinboro qualified for the PSAC tournament 22 times and reached the PSAC Championship game 11 times.

Most recently, in the 2017-18 season, Swank's team had an overall record of 27-4 and claimed Swank's fifth PSAC Championship. Additionally, he was named the WBCA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Metro Erie Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

“The best highlight has been watching players graduate and go on to be very successful in society,” said Swank, who hopes to continue coaching at some level to continue developing young athletes. “It has been very exciting and rewarding to watch players grow as basketball players and as people. Hopefully, I was able to help some people along the way to become better and reach their goals.”
