The Secret Life of Edinboro professors — Spectator Special Issue

From podiums and powerpoints, to stage lights and screaming fans, Edinboro University adjunct instructor Nicholas Artman has opened for more than a classroom of college students throughout his professional career.

Outside of being a math professor at Edinboro, Frank Marzano enjoys watching foreign films and visiting New York City, but what he enjoys most is playing, writing and listening to music.

Located on the second floor of Cooper Hall, at the crossroads separating geosciences and chemistry, the discrete office is where Tshudy discovered Dinochleus steeplensis three years ago, and more recently continues to research a new species within the genus “homarus.”

Over the span of 11 years, a young man, who started as a high school football player and college architecture hopeful, maintained a successful powerlifting hobby.

A music video released in April 2016 for They Might Be Giant’s “Moles, Hounds, Bears, Bees and Hares” begins with a drawing of a green squirrel playing a trumpet. The video stems from months of work by animators Jeremy Galante and David Cowles.

Looking at Edinboro University’s band director, you would probably think that he spends most of his time behind closed doors orchestrating bands. Surprisingly, he loves being outdoors just as much as Bear Grylls from the Discovery Channel’s television series ‘Man vs. Wild.’
