The men’s and women’s tennis teams swept their matches last weekend in the Nancy and Harvey Heath Gator Invitational as both squads earned two wins apiece. The one-day event was hosted by Allegheny College in Meadville.
Both Edinboro’s men’s and women’s teams earned the team title from the invitational for their unblemished records. The ladies earned two 8-1 victories, handing losses to Grove City and Allegheny.
Their male counterparts defeated Allegheny, 7-2, and shutout Grove City, 9-0. The invitational served as a warm-up for the Fighting Scots as the squads are set to compete in the 2015 PSAC Singles and Doubles Championships.
This year’s event, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, is hosted by Blooomsburg University. Boro is the defending men’s doubles champion with Bruno Borja and Brandon Romain winning the title a year ago.
