The Academic Success Center has announced their spring workshop series. There are four workshops left for the semester. Each workshop runs from 3 to 4 p.m. and is held in Room 201B in the Baron-Forness Library.

On Tuesday, March 1, Edinboro University is offering a workshop on how to use free online tutoring through Smartthinking. The tutors at Smartthinking are trained to assist you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Smartthinking can be found in your D2L account.

“The Study Cycle: A ‘Workout’ for Your Brain” will be held on Tuesday, March 15. This workshop will teach you how to improve your learning and retention by using a continuous cycle of studying.

A demonstration of Edinboro’s Career Service Center’s online resources will be held on Tuesday, March 22.

Some of the center’s services include free online career and personality assessments, the online job board, interview stream, and resume critique and feedback.

The final workshop offered on Tuesday March 29 is titled “Getting to Know Yourself: Understanding Emotional Intelligence.” It will help you understand emotional intelligence, according to the Success Center, and gain strategies for dealing with the pressures of university life.

The workshops that have already been offered by the Academic Success Center were titled, “SQ3R — A Reading Strategy that Works,” “The Messages You Send: Tips on College Etiquette,” and “Testing! Testing! Strategies for Success.”
